This novel was a quick read, but it still proved depth to it.
I thought she was moody and rather annoying. It’s simply got an endearing balance of smarts, humor and romance that works on a number of levels. If ever there was a case for a book in desperate need of a new cover, and possibly a new title, this would be that book. Plus, he takes Walkwr to do all sorts of cool Austin things like going to Barton Springs, seeing the bats under the South Congress bridge, and taking her tubing.
I know that a LOT of covers that are like that are usually those super predictable books you know which ones I’m talking about but this one is not like that. May 08, T. And I love that even with all her snarky attitude and music snobbery, she’s just a young woman on a journey to self discovery who is as human as the rest of us. Whenever you need a pick me up, escape or to just feel good inside, Walker’s Lovestruck Summer is the perfect prescription.
He was a nice guy and such, but for most of the story we hear about how much Quinn doesn’t like him so it’s hard to form any attachments to their relationship. Two guys are in love with me.
I did enjoy it, just not as much as I would have liked. Quinn herself never speaks to her parents too much and any real adult figures are all conspicuously missing in favor of a “fun-filled” summer. Making her own decisions. Lovestruck Summer gave me what I needed lovestrjck a relaxing summer.
It’s really enjoyable-for a short read-so go read it! She discovers herself in this book and I think that is what makes the book so much better. Lovestruck Summer by Melissa Walker
I feel that the ending could have been different. Want to Read Currently Reading Read. Figuring herself out, figuring her heart out. I really enjoyed this book! She’s actively looking for a summer fling. I feel like that Quinn is just so lovesteuck about who she is and what she wants, almost to a fault.
Unlike most of the romance novels, I didn’t find the drama to be overwhelming. I slowed my reading pace just to savor Walker’s delicious nugget. Quinn really grows over the course of the novel and I love a book with character development. I loved how he called Quinn out when she was wxlker stubborn and close minded, yet he was always patient and forgiving. While the idea was cute, the follow through was just alright.
