A sequel would help solve the only small problem I had with ths book – a niggling worry these young men wouldn’t last beyond their safe college world. I love my paranormals to be firmly rooted in the real world and this one certainly was – the only strange thing is that injured ex-Olympic diver John can see auras although he firmly refuses to think of them as thatand that the moody yet lovable Mason has a different kind of aura to everyone else.


There is plot, and it’s a good one. Expand Cut Tags No cut tags. And when he looks at Mason, he’s seeing more than one. The great writing makes the idea come alive and feel honest, instead of hokey or contrived.

John isn’t the typical virginal character, all innocent and a total pushover, but can look out for himsel; and the two main characters aren’t falling all over each other – their relationship is swinging regularly from hot and heavy towards cold and distanced, and it takes a while thanks to John and Mason’s issues to get to a more stable ground. I had high hopes for this one.

Their relationship gets off to a bumpy start. Alex stole the show!!! I wanted to know what his story was and my heart ached a little because he seemed to be a a really good guy who just k.a.mitche,l to be around someone. Mason was pretty much a dick the entire book and I wanted to strangle him. Mitchell to be also a light comedy, but indeed it was; better it was a romantic comedy, with some funny moments, that is even better. Mitchell hardly disappoints her fans. No doobt aboot it, my friends.

And then there is Keith. Mitchell does it again. I loved that the writer could change my perception of these characters. This is not quite a paranormal or fantasy novel, though there is a ghost in it. When and if more books in this series come out, and I read them, I may change my overall feeling about this story depending on what follows.
