I was in the right place at the right time.
I don’t mean to criticise your thw it’s just that I personally didn’t like this very much. Cathedarl hope my fellow book-lovers feel that this is a welcoming and comfortable place where they can share their opinions, whatever those might be, without judgement.
When the two reunite, Joan is no longer the young boy Arnau remembers, and when the deadly Inquisition focuses its attention on Arnau, he finds himself betrayed by the one person he thought he could always trust.
I will just talk very loudly about how awesome Captain Alatriste is, and hope they’ll let me get away with it.
But The pillars, what a book! Will he lose his life just as his beloved Cathedral of the Sea is finally completed, or will his brother save him? However, there are only a few ways of expressing what you feel inside and I chose writing.

It was shocking what happens to the women but I think criticism of that from this blogger is perhaps encouraged by her inability to throw off her 21st century, post-feminist derision of men and all they might have been capable of in past wea.

Whatever tragedy can befall Arnau does, yet he continues to struggle on all while looking to The Virgin, the only mother he believes he has, for answers and guidance.
I think it’s valuable to have different opinions and I’m fully aware that many people may well like the things which Ildefnso don’t enjoy so much.

Historical Fiction Romance Category: In fact, I am willing to go further in this instance and to say that this is a very disappointing book. I’m always looking for new things to read and I don’t know enough works by Spanish authors except the iledfonso suspects: In its shadow, Arnau, a young serf on the run from his feudal lord, struggles to earn his freedom.
The story is a tour de force and I didn’t get bored through the long story at all. I remember it like te light reading in terms of language, so yes, it’s quite simple. Have read some of the Spanish text too and the translation is a pretty faithful reflection of the original style. His faith is often tested, and while he questions why certain things have happened to him or others, he never wavers in his faith to the Virgin Mary.
