I love modernism and what came out of it. Grid Systems in Graphic Design is fantastic and important reading material that can be enjoyed as a reading piece or as somewhat of a reference piece.

Though Muller-Brockman first presented hi interpretation of grid inthis text is still useful today for anyone working in the latest computer-assisted design.

To do any creative designs, please get out of these grids! Some very useful ideas, especially for people just getting into design. Practically, you can see how Panasonic website follows grids but is not “sexy” visually. Beautifully printed in hardcover with black and red ink on soft fabric-like paper. I will probably never finish reading this over and over. This goes into great detail about establishing gutter type size columns and rows for achieving balance in design. I definitely don’t recommend anyone to follow the grids, this book is simply a tool to get joseg to working with the grid. I do think though that it’s a little over the top in insisting the grid is the only way to go, and a bit Trivia About Grid Nosef in G Although it was written long before mmuller internet, many of the concepts explained by the author are applicable to web and desktop application design.

Really well structured and the words were chosed really carefull, which showed how much passion was poured into it. This won’t bore you with maxims, commandments or such fixated rules. Feb 10, Aaron rated it liked it. The book explores the application of the grid in 3D so industrial designers and architects will find this useful as well. A must read for all graphic designers. Things will inherently make more sense and the designer’s workflow becomes simplified for the better while improving their work greatly. If you like books and love to build cool products, we may be looking for you.
