Oct 04, Jennifer rated it it was amazing Shelves: Now the mystery begins as it was obvious someone put the body there for her to find, and instead of a random stranger having taken the girl, it’s someone close to home.

Grave Surprise (Harper Connelly, book 2) by Charlaine Harris

I still enjoyed it, and know that cases have to be different, and can’t wait to read book three. Overall I felt that the pacing was pretty good although the ending did seem a little rushed.

This review was originally posted on Adventures in Never Never Land I don’t know if this was because I had really high expectations, or because it really is difficult to translate a written novel in a graphic version, but I felt like this was just an okay read.

When she comes the grave of a centuries-old man she not only identifies him, but a second corpse buried on top—the body of a girl Harper had been hired, but failed, to find previously. I hope I am not the only one this stupid. The panels weren’t too crowded with drawings, and there were just enough characters to keep the story going and to not confuse me. It was understandable in many ways, but her reaction seemed over dramatic.

I felt that the pacing was excellent. It’s a good read and I would recommend it f This is the first graphic novel I’ve ever read, and it didn’t disappoint. The review must be at least 50 characters long. chaglaine

Tolliver is equally interesting, but perhaps because we know so little about him. There are skeptics, so when a professor grxve her out to a graveyard in memphis, she only expects to find the grave of a ‘Grave Surprise’ by Charlaine Harris and Royal McGraw with art by Ilias Kyriazis is an adapation of the second book charlaiine the Harper Connelly series.

srprise You can call what you want, but we all see the truth as plain as day In this book, the wonder-twins are in town to walk through a graveyard and call out the dead peoples’ names and cause of death. While the action is decently paced and the story drew me in, I did sometimes feel, especially towards the end that character motivations grew a little bit muddy.

Charlaine Harris – Grave Surprise

Looking forward to next book. Just a moment while we sign you in to your Goodreads account. I think with a better writer, this series could actually be quite good.

I’ve read a few of the Sookie books and find charrlaine generally fine. I have read two and will not read more. Nicely surprised by the solid, beautiful artwork that compliments the story. The main character and her step-brother are interesting, well-developed characters whose pasts tie them together in a unique way which will certainly influence their future.
