She discovered the power of education in Vermont — innovative, committed to empowering every student to live the future they imagine — and stayed. She is excited about the work underway at the Cabot School, and looks forward to supporting and working with faculty and staff, students and their families, and the Cabot community in the work of ensuring a great education at the Cabot School for every student.

Intrigued by the project underway there, she applied for a position and was hired. About 45 community members, board members, and SVSU faculty and staff turned out for the introduction, which included remarks from both Cresto and superintendent Jim Culkeen.

Glenda will be traveling to Cabot tomorrow to tour the school and meet with faculty, students and the community. Five years ago, Glenda heard about a school in northern Vermont focusing on student-centered, proficiency-based learning.
