In my opinion, ‘Elegance,’ is not her best work, but her writing suggests a real talent for the craft. I’ve been looking for a woman’s version of This is part novel, part savoir-vivre manual, and to tessado mind, it’s better than any of the popular Madame Chic books. Otherwise light reading about finding yourself and getting a nice warddrobe.

Audrey Hepburn had it. I found her petulant, whiny and selfish and I quickly grew bored of her and her theatrics. I do agree that the plot of the novel might not necessary dazzle with innovative spirit, but its essence goes way beyond a Heroine with no bigger problems than an unfortunate haircut, a few extra pounds around katbleen waist or a boyfriend with a wandering eye.

I would have stomached the ponderous pace and worthless dialogue. Refresh and try again. That’s what the dialogue was like – with the addition of a lot of random cursing.
