Butterface was a short and sweet novella. Things happened between Beth and Lucky Butterface is more than I expected it to be.

Short stories always surprise and impress me. It was just a whirl of the whole cliche– popular boy falls in love with not-so-attractive girl. It is just very hard to believe that he was as tied down as it was implied.

I liked the message at the heart of this story. I don’t think Beth is ugly. Yet the dance is buterface. Lucky is sincere, sweet and caring, he worries about Beth working too hard and doesn’t really care about the scars and even though Beth’s not his type at all he somehow fells attracted to her.
