Maybe I’m just mincing the details too much. Boy Heaven by Laura Kasischke. Nevertheless, the book freaked me out a number of times. Oct 06, Marion rated it really liked it. Aug 24, Carly Patterson rated it bboy liked it. She is a talented writer and I hope her career keeps her putting out books for many years to come. Back at camp, their victory is short lived.
What they “didn’t” kazischke on was being followed by two guys in a beat-up station wagon. Kasischke’s writing is beautiful and unexpected and the story is so diffe I really liked this book.
Overall, I like this book but I think there are a lot of things that could have been cut from the story. The pacing of this book was magnificent, something I struggle with in my own writing, as well as the characterizations. Anyway, the thing that this book does best is take the reader along on the psychological train wreck of being haunted or stalked by something creepy.

I feel oaura there are a lot of woman who write great adult books but dumb it down too much for YA. Most of the story was just a bunch of girls in a cheerleading camp hating on each other while pretending that they weren’t.

I know it’s meant as an urban legend but you could at least give me a decade. The writing style was clear and it’s a fast read.
There was one sort of friend in the camp that was clearly very ill, mentally or physically and she never once asked her if she was okay or even attempted to get her any help. There is enough sex in this otherwise to make sure of that. And in “Pretty is as pretty does” which is what my stepfather used to say whenever I stood in front of the mirror too long.

I admit I get creeped out easily when it comes to urban legends or old campfire stories, yet I am hunky dory reading true crime or paranormal books. I can say it is not a fun, sun-soaked read like the cover would lead you to believe and it is much darker than you think. AND whatever happens, this story becomes the ultimate spooky story to tell outside in the middle of the night A Rainforest Alphabet by Anthon As we drove, the breeze made a smothering whoosh around us, and the air smelled like a Pink Pearl eraser that I used to keep on my desk in elementary school–immaculate I used to hold that eraser to my nose when I was bored, breathe in the dense pink dust, which had rubbed away hundreds of my mistakes and still smelled clean.
