Feb 17, Digit rated it did not like it. After reading the first of the series, I had high hopes for the sequel – I was very wrong. He eventually figured that he was very self centered and too self absorbed and not able to involve other input ideas into his band and would never become famous nor get a record deal. This book is a must read for anyone who enjoys novels set in a dystopian future with corrupt leaders and religious fanatics.
This is a slower read than the first story Last Light but stick with it because it’s just as good.

Una digna sucesora del primer libro. There are a few rants about consumerism and unrestrained capitalism, but these aren’t laid on too heavily. The story and charachters are very credible, and AS writes in a style that is very easy to digest. Books by Alex Scarrow. Constantly complaining about how bad they have it. Though the characters were incredibly well drawn, and some very likeable, the author eternally takes a negative view of humanity. It’s a pretty scary potential future, though set aftsrlight an extreme – I really don’t think self-sustaining little hamlets couldn’t or wouldn’t form for themselves – that leaves behind some thoughts on our rampant consumerism and unsustainable consumption.

Just to get it out of the way first, I’m bloody annoyed that nowhere on the cover of this book does it mention it’s a sequel to “Last Light”, it just says; “from the author of Last Light”.
