“Fans of legal dramas might check out Alex Flinn’s intriguing Fade To Black In this tautly constructed novel, an HIV-positive high school student sees his life. Alex Flinn is the queen of writing troubled yet multidimensional teens, and she doesn’t disappoint with FADE TO BLACK. Read it, and question. Free Essay: 1) The story takes place in Pinedale, Florida. Where a HIV-positive Pinedale High School student named Alejandro Crusan or Alex for short, was.

I would rate this book a 5 because it is interesting to read and you want to read more of it each night if you can. One good thing that I liked about the book is how the cover looks. This book had everything suspense, drama, and real pain a person must feel in day to day life.
So, then the case is settled right, wrong. Each has a struggle, but who suffers the most? He uses foreshadowing by showing the reasons why people would think Clinton might commit a crime like that, and why Alex would blame it on him. Did Clinton do this and if he did not will he be punished anyway? Frankly, her chapters just pulled me out of the story.
Mom started crying then too. Just after this happens Clinton Cole is also accused of throwing a rock through a window at Alex’s house. When you look at Clinton from the outside, you think he is one of those intolerant self-righteous idiots who can’t bear blak else with a difference.
My overall opinion about the book is the main three character has lots of problems of there own to detail with. I also liked the word choices. If I were to rate this book, I would rate it 5 being the best.
Fortunately, I had brought a bunch of paper bags with me. I like that it addresses the topic of what it means to be HIV positive in a realm other than the world of homosexuality where my students expect it.
Fade to Black – a young adult novel by Alex Flinn
I loved this book because it had such a bold meaning to it, and also because it was very suspenseful and I could never put it down when I got to a good part.
Incident Involving HIV-positive student. You’ve successfully reported this review. I had a hard time imagining that a school would really tell its entire student body that a kid is HIV-positive I know my school vlack it super under wraps but given the setting, I suppose it could happen.
What bec When a hate crime happens in a small Florida town, a windshield is smashed and an HIV positive student is hospitalized, the fllinn have a witness but can they believe her? I try not to get mad at those people, because I remember I used to do it myself before. A couple of cartons of the “good stuff” went into the prop room.
Lists with This Book. To me, its a perfect kind of book for an average teenager to read. But his attitude comes mainly from his ignorance of the virus. Short little book so short little review. Daria, a witness of the incident has Down Syndrome. She really gets into the head of these three teenagers and brings us a fascinating story. Maybe the case isn’t really the point of the book.
The three ale in this book help the reader to understand where each character is coming from. It fills a huge void in YA literat It’s probably not fair of me to write a review of this book after this read.
So that brought the story down a bit for me because I hope that people today, school administrators as well as students and well, everyone are somewhat better informed about this disease. I cannot recommend this book enough as it a fascinating YA too for people wanting to know more about HIV, but also about major issues teenagers encounter such as bullying or the relationship they have with their families. My son has HIV. Apr 13, Mohamed Maaty rated it really liked it. I thought this was a great book and a flinb awareness bullying.
