I bloody knew it! But being critical, so many things are going on that I felt they’ve been a bit more forced and rushed. Delphine rated it it was ok Nov 08, We learn about his father, Vadim and the awkward, colder relationship they have together. It was a light, easy, quick read – so, pretty much the complete opposite of SF. View all 14 comments. The hot and a bit kinky sex was not unexpected, though. That being said, I wasn’t crazy about this book. Y la parte familiar de Nikolai?
So, pardon me if I’m biased!
I think the reason that the relationship between Nikolai and Henri did not develop convincingly for me was that a lot of the book was devoted to other events that detracted from the MCs. Women across the globe fling their panties in his direction, but Ace isn’t interested in those – he’s more of a boxer briefs kind of guy.
Nikolai, a man who has never allowed himself to settle down with anyone because he is afraid of ending up as hurt and as messed up as his family, finds sparks flying with the heir of an opposing mining corporation: Alekeandr I know and love Nickolai from his brief appearances in Special Forces and his relationship with Vadim.
Heart thumping-pumping ecstatic even! The most and almost the only thing i loved about this book is seeing Vadim and the develop in his relationship with Voionv And thus, begins the story of the priest, the princess, and the prick.
I liked him quite a lot. Am I disappointed by the change? And when it comes to rules of the heart, they were made to be broken. I was a blubbering mess! Spoiled as that makes me sound. Pulse i didn’t understand all Nikolai’s hesitation and holding back!
Gold Digger by Aleksandr Voinov (2 star ratings)
There was nothing really profound there. And I love the bond between Vadim and Nikolai, it was such a welcome element in this story. Something was lacking for me with Nikolai and Henri–everything happened too quickly.
However, even with the pull Nikolai and Henri had, I still think the relationship developed too quickly. This book had a mild enemies-to-lovers theme, which I wholly enjoyed!
And his time spent with Vadim was nothing but brilliant reading. The CEO of LeBeau seems interested in the company but decides to sit on his decision, suggesting his nephew, Henri take Nikolai and his colleague Tamas out on the town for the evening. I needed that little bit more in the story to get me where the story took me.
A very quick and sweetly romantic read.

Anyway Voinov is still the f voijov best and I’ll always kiss the ground he walks on. He is lip licking scrumptious in very a suave and debonair way. I love that Nikolai can’t stand Jean. Want to Read Currently Reading Read.
I’m sure that, if it were longer, Mr Voinov would have made the whole thing work beautifully; Nikolai’s relationship with Henri would have evolved more smoothly and their HEA would have been more solid and more believable. Quotes from Gold Digger. I think Henri would agree.

ELoisa R rated it it was ok Sep 01, He’s loyal to his old friend Ruslan who founded it and when an attempt to get some capital from a Toronto based mining company results in the company’s sudden interest in taking over Cybele, Nicholas finds himself sitting across the table from Henri LeBlanc the charming nephew of an old shark, whose blatant interest in him confuses and touches him.
The business dealings seemed to work out a little too easy. And I love to be tortured when I read. Aug 26, Aiko rated it djgger it Shelves: I goldd by now acquired a taste for more Aleksanxr Voinov stories. Bitter and jaded, Hawk harbors futile dreams of leaving the sea for a quiet life, but men like him don’t deserve peace. Henri LeBeau is charming, smart, confident and has an obvious attraction for Nikolai. Rhys Turner quit a stressful job in the city after his high-strung boyfriend of six years walked out.
And compared to many other books I’ve read in this genre it’s a 10 star. This story would have been better with a few hundred pages added to fully develop and resolve the dgiger between Nikolai and Henri and Nikolai, Henri and work. I have to admit, he was funny and all, but he felt unreal.
It was easily my favorite part of the book.
