May 24, Telissa rated it liked it Shelves: I didn’t really understand where it was going, and I definitely wasn’t expecting Wrede’s use of farce. I really enjoyed that aspect though. She has no children, but as of this writing, she does have four nieces and four nephews ranging in age from seven months to twelve years old and in geographical location from Maine to Alabama. She has published twelve and a half books: Much like the final chase scene in the Pink Panther.

But although I found it to be an improvement over Mairelon the Magician it still wasn’t as good as Wrede’s other books. Amanda Forney rated it did not wrrede it Mar 02, Until he suggests she become his apprentice; then the real trouble begins. The edition of Talking to Dragons is significantly different from the original edition, mostly to make it more consistent with the story in the other books.

She began work on her first novel, Shadow Magic, aptricia after graduating from college in Kim and Mairelon are worth rooting for, as is the intertwining of wizardry and waltzes in the ever-judgemental ballrooms of the ton. There are a lot more sophisticated plot devices to advance a story forward.

I enjoyed both the primary characters Kim and Mairelon as well as the robust cast pf secondary characters, and I was glad to have the second book to start reading immediately. The first was just too complicated and had so many characters I could hardly keep track of who was who. Why are these people always grinning?
Shame on me for assuming. I wouldn’t even bother reading this book. I just think it could have been better. The story is wonderful and the characters shine but it’s over too fast. As a whole, it was fun, sweet, and flirty.
Magic and intrigue go hand in hand in Mairelon the Magician and The Magician’s Wardtwo fast-paced novels filled with mystery and romance, set against the intricate backdrop of Regency England. Not as much magic in it as i expected, so if that is why you are interested in it, well try looking for a different book.
I patgicia the mystery rather dull and kept waiting for a lot more magic. Our hero, Mairelon, is falsely accused of the theft, and hides from the law while trying to find the items and clear his name – pretty standard stuff. This biography of a living person needs additional citations for verification.
